WHO CAN USE THE FITNESS CENTER?
Individuals that either live or work in Hancock County that have a referral from their Physician/Healthcare Provider can utilize the fitness center. Physician/Healthcare Providers can make referrals for people 14 years old & up. A referral form can be downloaded below and provided to an individual's Physician/Healthcare Provider to be filled out and either faxed or dropped off at the health department. After the health department receives the referral an orientation will be scheduled to learn how to use the equipment safely.
Anyone who is 14 to 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when exercising.
Our goal is to help people who want to improve their health and the management of chronic diseases (diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, obesity, etc.) through regular exercise. Facility is located in the Hancock County Health Department, the Fitness Center has a separate entrance, foam flooring, and commercial grade exercise equipment. The maximum user weight on most of our machines is 500 lbs.
